Minimum temperatures this morning were much warmer than yesterday in all areas. Plus, many of the minimums occurred near or shortly after midnight. The warmer air also brought some light snow into many locations, although accumulations stayed under 1 inch in most backyards.
There will be some additional pockets of light snow today, but little if any accumulation is expected. The secondary pockets of light snow are associated with a cold front that will bring back the cold air into the region after our brief break we are experiencing today.
The cold front will bring back much colder air this weekend into next week. There looks to be a brief break again on Monday, otherwise, well below average temperatures are foreseen through the end of February.
