5/28/15: Rain Update

No changes in forecast thinking.  But for today, the morning rain/thunder that is moving east, will redevelop today in especially eastern North Dakota and push into Minnesota.

This projected animation from the HRRR guidance (High Resolution Rapid Refresh) seems to have the general idea of the events of later today.   Amounts mostly near or under 0.50 inches but there will be localized areas that see 1 inch (and more) in the heavier thunderstorms.  Typical of summer convection.

Frost threat on Saturday still looks to be the case, especially in NC/NE North Dakota then down the James River Valley area.  More on that tomorrow.
