Back to Cool

Having a long stretch of warm weather, say two or three weeks without a transition to cooler temperatures tends to be the exception rather than the rule in our climate.  Prolong heat waves are rare, as more often than note we get just a few days of heat before a cold front moves through cooling us down.  This week is yet another example of that as today through Friday will be quite cool and at times almost chilly.  I often refer to these periods of “free air conditioning”, but the reality is we need as many days as we can during the summer with temperatures at least at 80 degrees or warmer.  With the fresh rain, one the warmer temperatures arrive, crop development should take off quickly.
