Cooperative Observers Needed

The National Weather Service in Bismarck needs your help. We are lacking weather observers in various locations throughout our County Warning Area (CWA). The weather office in Bismarck provides forecasts for more 75 percent of North Dakota. Our CWA extends from the Montana/North Dakota border east to the Turtle Mountains through the James River Valley. Across our forecasting area, there are numerous weather observers providing critical information that impacts/influences our daily forecasts. We depend on observers daily and in critical weather events to be our eyes across the state.

Volunteers are needed in several counties in our CWA.  These include, Bottineau, McHenry, Burleigh, Emmons, Logan, Kidder, Oliver, Mercer, William, Golden Valley and Slope.
