Delayed Spring 2017?

I have already spoken at several events giving my prospects for potential weather in 2017.  Even before the snows arrived, I had pointed out that the Winter of 2016-2017 will likely produce at least normal snowfall and even with that amount of snow, it would then be likely that any early planting in 2017 would be unlikely in comparison to the springs of 2015 or 2016 when the winters produced little snow.  Of course with little snow in 2015 or 2016, it melted quickly and some farmers were out in the fields at the end of March or very early April.  With the snows already in place that now really increases the odds that an early plant would be unlikely, but just because we may not get out early next spring, doesn’t mean we won’t get out when we normally would.
