Most of North Dakota was missed, but southern North Dakota did record some rainfall on Wednesday. It was generally light with the exception of a few spots near the South Dakota border where about one-third of an inch of rain was measured. What you may have missed was to our east and southeast that same storm produced snow. In some locations, a lot of snow. Duluth Minnesota recorded around a foot of snow Wednesday into Thursday morning. That set a monthly snow record and also two daily snowfall record for that city. The last May day with even close to that much snow for that city occurred on May 10, 1902, over 100 years ago.
