June 2021

June is ending as one on the warmest Junes on record.  It will also end up being almost exactly the same as June of 2020.  No, we didn’t hit triple digits last year like many locations did this month, but the warmth was very persistent in 2020, to some degree even more so than this year.  Many people have forgotten this, but June 2020 was also dry and there are several areas that were drier last year than even this year.  The difference was in 2020 the soils were wetter, plus, many acres of corn was yet to be harvested.  Plus, in 2020, if you live in the Red River Valley, the rains came the last few days of June into all of July.  This year, that doesn’t look to be the case.
