As our spring weather becomes more permanent, our weather will become more unsettled. This time of year, it is common for a day to start out with one sort of weather and then turn completely different during the day. It can be sunny and warm, then rain and turn cold. It can be perfectly calm through early afternoon, and then become windy enough for blowing dirt in the afternoon. The reason for the changeability is that smaller scale weather systems become more significant as the sun gets higher in the sky. We will still see occasional broad scale weather systems, but localized storms will be the most common in the next few months.
