This time of year, of course thoughts move to spring and hoping it will be an early one.  That rarely occurs in our climate.  The snow that many areas got Tuesday, although not much of a storm in most locations by our standards, was a reminder that it is still winter.  Our average high doesn’t reach the freezing point of 32 for a couple of weeks yet and even by the end of march our average high in eastern North Dakota is still only in the mid-40s, not exactly what most people consider spring temperatures.  This is not meant to be a depressing segment, but instead a reminder that in North Dakota, spring using will start in April,  there is the rare March 2012 type years, but those are few and far between.
