The peak of the annual Perseid meteor shower was expected to be last night. But that doesn’t mean you’ve missed an opportunity to see what is probably the most well-known of all the meteor showers. The Perseid meteor shower tends to produce some of the highest meteor rates of the year, plus occurring in summer makes it easier to watch. As an added bonus this is also one of the clearest times of the year and the moon right now is in the waxing crescent phase meaning the moon will set quickly after sunset. So grab a lawn chair, grab some bug spray and enjoy the show, as even past peak, you’ll likely still see some meteors, weather permitting.
