If you live in western North Dakota you are very well aware of the fact that the National Weather Service radars do not serve the western one-quarter of the state as well as other areas. Fortunately, non-National Weather radars do help fill those gaps. The Stanley and Bowman radars have been run for several years by the State Water Commission, plus we now have an even more powerful radar in Williston. To access these radars, you have generally needed to use the website for the state water commission. This isn’t an endorsement, just a heads up that the Radar Omega app for your phone now has these radars available within the app making access easier.
