Many residents of southwestern North Dakota woke up to snow on the ground yesterday. Yes, on May 27. No doubt that is a very late date, even by North Dakota standards to record measurable snow. Yet, that is not the latest snow cover in that part of the state this century. Back on June 6, 2009, parts of southwestern North Dakota record a few inches of snow. From reports, even more than what fell yesterday. In fact, there was some damage back in 2009 as the snow was wet and heavy enough to collapse some summer ten structures. With a warm up coming, it is doubtful North Dakota will record anymore snow until this autumn.
