September is upon us and that means some big changes are coming. By the end of the month much of this area will likely record the first frost and potentially the first hard freeze of the season ending our growing season. The average high and low will drop about 15 degrees, or another way of looking at that is the average drops one degree every other day. The last 80 degree day of the year and the last we may experience in 7 or 8 months will also likely occur this month as well. September may not be the month that we begin to think of winter, but for good or bad this is the month that begins our plunge into the coldest part of the year.
