We already experienced some severe weather this week and there will be additional chances in the next several days. I completely understand why severe weather is disliked. It causes damage and even deaths. Yet, at the same time, severe thunderstorms bring a huge percentage of our yearly precipitation. The severe weather is usually isolated, granted, it is never isolated when it happens to you, but outside of the severe parts, those same storms often bring widespread beneficial rains at the same time. June is peak severe weather season in North Dakota and it is no coincidence that June is also, by far, the rainiest month of the year.
