There was a significant blizzard to our south on Sunday into Sunday night. The storm stretch from Kansas and Nebraska through southern Iowa to Chicago. Certainly not all areas, but double digit snow totals occurred with the storm as well as wind gusts over 50 miles per hour with even a few locations recorded gusts beyond 60 mph. Therefore, even by Red River Valley standards it was a nasty storm. There are indications that another similar storm will track in a similar path this upcoming weekend meaning that if true, would bring a significant amount of snow cover to our south. In turn, this will make it harder for our area to warm up much.
