It certainly won’t feel like it today, as a cold front has allowed more cool air to move across the region, but the warmest air we have recorded in a couple of weeks appears to be approaching the area in the upcoming days. I have mention since mid-July that the second half of summer is looking cooler than the first half was, but that doesn’t mean warm stretches won’t still be with us on occasion. One of those warm stretches is coming our way. The heat along the west cost of the United States will be shifting east into the Great Plains for a few days peaking this weekend. Not only will it warm up, it also will probably increase the chances of thunderstorms as well.
