It is that time of year when a very commonly asked question to me is what do you think the weather will be this autumn. Most of the questions come from the perspective of are we going to turn wet. As with all long-term forecasts there will be exceptions, for examples there are areas this summer at or above average for rain, they may be the exception, but not every spot is dry. Having said that, my analog package of previous years similar to this year would suggest moving back to near average for most locations. The rain probably coming too late to increase yields, but hopefully keeping yields from dropping in the final weeks of the growing season.
