I recently was reading an article online where someone was quoted saying it has been dry this summer because of the lack of rain. Yes, seriously, that was the quote. Hard to argue with that, but nevertheless an extremely obvious observation. This dry summer, as was the case in 2006, 2009 and 2012 has brought on talk that the so called wet cycle we have been in since 1993 has come to a close. We are certainly due for a string of dry years, but it is far too early to make any such claims as you likely will recall we had significant floods after the most recent dry summers. For now the dry 2017 is just a reminder of the old quote “there is no debt so surely met as wet to dry and dry to wet”.
