As we move through the month of June the amount of sunshine we record tends to increase. We are still in early June when cloudy overcasts days are still relatively common, but as we progress through the month those types of days tend to become more frequent. Our sunniest period of the year tends to be in July and August into early September. Interestingly, the other sunny period we experience is in January and February. Both sunnier periods tend to occur after the solstices. It is after the summer solstice we experience the warmest/sunniest period of the summer and it is after the winter solstice that we tend to experience the coldest/sunniest part of winter.
