October 1-15, 2016

The first one half of October is behind us and the weather stats for that period were not all that bad for harvesting in North Dakota.   Yes, there were exceptions, but exceptions, especially in locations in the southern Red River Valley around Wahpeton and also a portion of northwestern North Dakota where excessive rain on October 3 and 4 is still keeping some locations too wet for harvesting, but the rest of the area has recorded below average rainfall so far this month and above average temperatures equating to pretty good conditions.  Temperatures have been generally about 1 to 2 degrees above average so far this month with western North Dakota being the exception with some area recording temperatures a bit below average.
