South America

Yesterday I was given the opportunity to speak at the Prairie Grains conference in Grand Forks. Several individuals asked me about my thought on the weather and in turn the crop production may be in Brazil and Argentina.  My answer is I think Brazil will end up with production similar to last year based on the weather patterns I foresee.  The big difference will be in Argentina.  Many parts of Argentina suffered through dry weather during last year’s growing season. That doesn’t seem to be occurring this year.  Therefore, with Brazil doing similar to last year and Argentina doing much better, I would say overall production of in those two countries will be higher this season.
