The average high temperature now is approximately 60 degrees with the low near 40 degrees. By the end of the month the average high temperatures drop into the mid 40s with the average lows in the upper 20s. This means our averages drop by about 1 degree every day for the rest of this month. Then in November the those averages drop by nearly the same pace as by the end of that month the averages maximums will be in the middle 20s with average minimums near 10 degrees. These next 60 days marks our rapid transition into winter in the northern plains. This transition to cold will greatly reduce the evaporation potential during this time frame making above average rainfall this time of year very hard to deal with.
