The next several days looks to be one of the warmest stretches of weather so far this spring. This will allow for an increase in soil temperatures, some much needed growing degree units and in locations with adequate soil moisture, germination of crops. The elephant in the room is of course moisture. If I had a dollar for every time I have been asked about rain, I wouldn’t be rich, but I would probably be able to take several of you out for a nice lunch. We’ll have to see where a storm tracks next week, but in the short term just spotty/isolated precipitation is expected. It was about this dry last year in many locations and the rains eventually came, but for now a waiting game.
